South Hill repeater joins DMRVA network

The K4MJO repeater on 444.7875 MHz has come online this week with the DMRVA network. This repeater brings coverage to the Mecklenburg County area include I-85 and route 58.  As you can see, the repeater has some interesting  neighbors!

This repeater has been on the air for the last five years and we have been involved in supporting it while it was attached to a neighboring DMR network. All of the TG’s that were previously available are still

available (PRN TG is now PTT) and the standard DMRVA talkgroup lineup is available for users.

Please welcome the trustee (Sammy, K4MJO) to the network if you hear him on the air.

Virginia Statewide talkgroup

At frostfest we heard from many users about the increased utilization of the Virginia Statewide talkgroup that is carried full time on all DMRVA repeaters.  In some cases, users are using hotspots to talk to stations in the same town or even neighborhood.  We encourage all users to review the Talkgroup and Linked System Etiquette and to ask questions.  Using Virginia Statewide brings up 25+ repeaters across the state and beyond, not just your buddies hotspot.

Beaverdam repeater is off network

The Beaverdam repeater is off of the network but the repeater is still operating in stand alone mode.  Network service will be disrupted to this location for a period of time.  Please contact us if you have any questions.

If you have a roam list set up for Richmond Metro, your radio could roam to this site while it is off network.
